Trilogy

Useless-very useful

In the shadow of a world reshaped by unprecedented events, 2023 became a canvas for exploring necessity and innovation. Useless - very useful emerged from the echoes of a global pause, inviting designers to challenge the very definition of utility. This journey invited designers to conceive objects that, while seemingly impractical, reveal deeper truths about functionality in a post pandemic world. We showcased visionary designs that playfully intersect form and purpose, overlapping with 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen and extending beyond. Simon’s BO Chair, the GOPLE by Boris Berlin, and Kinoko by Lloyd Cowdry—each creation stands as a testament to the designers’ bold imaginations and the transformative power of design. This trilogy questions the boundaries of usefulness while celebrating conceptual exploration. In collaboration with Gallery Davis, these pieces were part of the REAL | FAKE exhibition, which invited enthusiasts to explore the interplay between innovation, authenticity, and the urban landscape of Copenhagen.
